Coloured Concrete — Hervey Bay & Fraser Coast
Oxide-coloured, stencilled and stamped concrete that lifts driveways, paths and patios above plain grey. Quoted in writing, finished neatly and cleaned up.
Coloured & Stamped Concrete Across the Fraser Coast
Coloured concrete is the easy way to take a hard-wearing slab and make it look like a feature rather than just a functional surface. Instead of plain grey, you get a colour that ties in with your home, your roof, your fences and your landscaping. Done well, it lifts the whole look of a driveway, path, patio or pool surround, and it is still concrete underneath — tough, low maintenance and built to last on the Fraser Coast.
There is more than one way to colour concrete and each gives a different result. Oxide can be mixed right through the concrete so the colour goes all the way down, or applied to the surface for a strong, even tone. Stencilled concrete uses patterns laid into the surface to mimic pavers, brick or tile. Stamped concrete is textured and coloured to imitate natural stone, timber or cobblestone. We will walk you through what suits your project and your budget.
Colour choice matters more out here than people expect. Coastal UV is harsh, so we use quality oxides and recommend sealing to keep the colour rich and resist fading. We will also steer you toward tones that hide dust and wear and that suit the strong Hervey Bay sun, rather than colours that will look tired in a couple of summers. Honest advice on colour is part of the job.
As with everything we pour, the finish is only as good as the work underneath it. Coloured concrete still needs a properly compacted base, correct reinforcement, the right falls for drainage and well-placed joints. We do all of that as standard, then apply the colour and finish with care so the result is even and consistent. Local, licensed, insured, and we leave your place clean.
What We Offer
Through-coloured (integral) oxide
Oxide mixed into the concrete so the colour runs all the way through — durable and forgiving if the surface ever wears.
Surface-applied colour
Strong, even colour applied to the surface, often paired with a sealer for a rich, finished look.
Stencilled concrete
Patterns stencilled into the surface to mimic pavers, brick or tile, giving a custom look without the joints and weeds of real pavers.
Stamped & textured patterns
Concrete stamped and coloured to imitate natural stone, slate, timber or cobblestone for a high-end decorative finish.
Colour matching & advice
We help you choose tones that suit your home and the coastal climate, and that hide dust and everyday wear.
Sealing to protect colour
Sealing locks in the colour, resists fading from coastal UV, and makes the surface easier to keep clean.
Our Coloured & Stamped Process
No mystery, no shortcuts. Here's exactly how we approach every coloured & stamped job on the Fraser Coast — so you know what's happening at each stage.
- 01
Free on-site consult & colour discussion
We come out, measure up and talk through colours, patterns and finishes against your home and surroundings. You get to consider through-colour, stencil and stamped options before any pricing is set.
- 02
Written fixed quote, itemised
Your quote details the base prep, reinforcement, the colour method and product, any stencil or stamp work, sealing and clean-up. Because pattern and colour affect price, we lock your choice in so the figure is firm.
- 03
Booking & site preparation
We confirm a start date and arrive on time to excavate, prepare and compact the base and set out the area. The decorative finish only looks as good as the slab beneath it, so the prep is done properly.
- 04
Formwork & reinforcement
We set the formwork to the correct falls so water drains away, then lay and chair up the reinforcement. We plan joints so they work with the colour and pattern rather than cutting awkwardly through it.
- 05
Pour, colour & finish
We pour and screed, then apply the colour by your chosen method — mixed through, surface-applied, stencilled or stamped. Timing is important for stencil and stamp work, so we work the surface at the right stage.
- 06
Detailing & joints
We detail the pattern or finish evenly across the area and cut control joints in the right positions so any future shrinkage is managed and the decorative look stays intact.
- 07
Cure, seal, clean-up & walkthrough
We cure the concrete, apply a quality sealer to protect the colour from UV and staining, clean the site and walk you through care and timing. You receive your tax invoice on completion.
Honest, Transparent Pricing
Coloured concrete is quoted as a fixed price in writing before we begin, with the base prep, reinforcement, colour method and product, any stencil or stamp work, sealing and clean-up all itemised, and a GST tax invoice provided on completion. Decorative work varies in price by colour and pattern, so we lock your selection into the quote and that is the price you pay.
If a genuine variation comes up once we are on site — usually around the ground needing more prep than expected — we pause, explain it clearly and get your written approval before pouring. Nothing about your colour, pattern or price changes without your say-so, and there are no extras sprung on you afterwards.
We give honest advice on colour and finish too. We will tell you which tones hold up best in the coastal sun, which hide dust and wear, and whether a stencil or stamp pattern is realistic for your area and budget. If plain or through-colour will serve you better than a more expensive option, we will say so rather than upselling.
