Epoxy Flooring Across the Fraser Coast

Epoxy flooring turns a plain concrete slab into a tough, easy-to-clean, great-looking surface that handles serious wear. It is the go-to for garages, sheds, workshops and commercial floors across the Fraser Coast because it resists oil, chemicals, tyre marks and impact, wipes clean in seconds, and brightens up a space. Whether you want a clean single colour, a decorative flake finish or a hard-wearing commercial coating, epoxy delivers a floor that earns its keep.

The single most important thing about epoxy is the preparation, and it is where cheap jobs fail. Epoxy only performs if it bonds properly to the concrete, and that means the slab has to be mechanically prepared — ground back to open up the surface — not just cleaned and coated. We diamond grind every floor, which removes laitance and contaminants and gives the epoxy a profile to grip. A coating applied over an unprepared slab will peel and flake, no matter how good the product is.

After grinding we work in stages — a primer to seal and bond to the slab, the build coats with your chosen colour or decorative flake broadcast in, and a clear topcoat that gives the floor its durability and finish. Each stage has to go down at the right time and in the right conditions. The flake systems are popular for garages because they look sharp, hide imperfections and add grip; solid colours and commercial-grade topcoats suit workshops and businesses that need maximum toughness.

Our local climate and humidity affect how epoxy cures, so timing and conditions matter, and getting them right is part of doing the job properly. We are QBCC licensed and insured, we prepare every floor the right way, and we leave your space clean with a floor that is ready to use once it has cured. No shortcuts on the prep, ever.

What We Offer

Diamond grinding & surface prep

Mechanical grinding to open up the slab, remove contaminants and create the profile epoxy needs to bond — the foundation of a coating that lasts.

Crack & joint repair

Cracks, holes and joints repaired and filled before coating so the finished floor is even and sound underneath.

Primer coat

A primer that seals the concrete and bonds the system to the slab, critical for adhesion and long-term performance.

Flake & colour systems

Decorative flake broadcast finishes in a range of colour blends, or solid colours — sharp looking, grippy and great at hiding imperfections.

Clear topcoat

A durable clear topcoat that locks in the finish and provides the chemical, abrasion and impact resistance.

Garage, shed & commercial floors

Systems sized to the job — from home garages and sheds to workshops, showrooms and commercial floors that take heavy traffic.

Our Epoxy Floors Process

No mystery, no shortcuts. Here's exactly how we approach every epoxy floors job on the Fraser Coast — so you know what's happening at each stage.

  1. 01

Free on-site consult & floor assessment

We inspect the slab, check its condition, moisture and any existing coatings, and discuss how the floor will be used. This tells us the right system — flake or solid, domestic or commercial grade — and we talk through colour options.

  2. 02

    Written fixed quote, itemised

Your quote details the grinding and prep, crack and joint repairs, the primer, the build and flake coats, the topcoat and clean-up. Because the system depends on use and finish, we lock your choice in so the price is firm.

  3. 03

    Booking & area preparation

We confirm a date and clear and protect the area, masking edges and adjacent surfaces. Anything stored on the floor needs to be off it, and we let you know how long the space will be out of action.

  4. 04

    Diamond grinding & repairs

We diamond grind the slab to remove laitance and contaminants and create the bonding profile, then repair cracks, holes and joints. This mechanical prep is the step that determines whether the coating lasts, so it is never skipped.

  5. 05

    Primer application

We apply the primer to seal the concrete and bond the system to the slab. Timing and conditions matter here, especially with our humidity, so we apply it when the slab and weather are right.

  6. 06

    Build coats & flake broadcast

We apply the build coats in your colour and, for flake systems, broadcast the flake into the wet coat for an even, decorative finish. Once cured we scrape back excess flake to leave a smooth, consistent surface.

  7. 07

    Topcoat, cure, clean-up & walkthrough

We apply the durable clear topcoat, let the system cure, clean up and walk you through it. We tell you when you can walk on it and put vehicles back, and provide your tax invoice on completion.

No surprises

Honest, Transparent Pricing

Epoxy flooring is quoted as a fixed price in writing before we start, with the grinding and prep, repairs, primer, build and flake coats, topcoat and clean-up all itemised, plus a GST tax invoice on completion. You will see exactly what system you are getting and what it costs, with no vague verbal numbers that grow once the job is underway.

We will never quote an epoxy job that skips the grinding to come in cheaper, because a coating that is not mechanically prepared will peel — and we are not interested in callbacks or a floor that fails. If you have been quoted a suspiciously cheap epoxy floor elsewhere, that is usually where the corner has been cut. We tell you straight what proper prep involves and why it matters.

If grinding reveals moisture issues or more damage than was visible, we stop, explain it and agree any variation in writing before going further. Sometimes the honest answer is that a slab needs a moisture barrier or repair first, and we would rather tell you that than coat over a problem. No surprise extras, just a floor done right.

Epoxy Flooring FAQs

Why does the concrete need to be ground before epoxy?
Epoxy only bonds if the slab is mechanically prepared. Grinding removes the smooth top layer (laitance) and contaminants and creates a profile for the epoxy to grip. A coating applied over an unprepared or just-cleaned slab will peel and flake, no matter how good the product is. This is the most important step in the whole job.
How long before I can use the floor and park on it?
You can usually walk on it within a day or so of the final coat, but for vehicles you generally need to wait around a week for full cure, depending on the product and the weather. Our humidity affects cure times, so we give you exact timing on the day. Putting tyres on too early can mark the surface.
Is epoxy slippery?
A smooth epoxy can be slick when wet, but flake systems naturally add texture and grip, and we can add anti-slip additives to the topcoat where needed. For garages, sheds and commercial floors we set the slip resistance to suit how the floor is used and whether it gets wet.
Can you epoxy an old or stained garage floor?
Usually yes — grinding removes most surface contamination and stains, and we repair cracks and holes before coating. The slab does need to be sound and not have moisture problems coming up through it. We assess it first and tell you honestly whether it is a good candidate or needs work first.
Does humidity affect epoxy in our climate?
Yes. The Fraser Coast humidity affects how epoxy cures, and applying in the wrong conditions can cause problems like blushing or poor adhesion. We apply when the slab and weather are right, which is part of why proper, experienced application matters out here rather than a rushed DIY-style job.
